Herb Garden

What is Herbalism:

Humans evolved in nature. Throughout most of history plants were used both for food and medicine. Herbalism is the oldest system of healing and can be defined as “the art and science of collecting, preparing, and utilizing herbs for healing.” To this day, we feel better when we eat real food and spend time in nature, and use plants as our primary form of medicine. Plants heal. Nature heals.

Natural therapies are:

  • generally less expensive
  • significantly safer
  • better suited to self-care
  • more holistic than conventional medicine
  • have a host of side benefits

In fact, just one herb can contain hundreds of compounds that work together in synergy to address a range of health conditions. Herbs encourage your body to heal and balance itself. They help your body relearn patterns of health, breaking away from patterns of disease and improving day-to-day functions.

How I work

Herbs and kettle.

I work with clients to achieve optimal health through the use of herbal preparations, supplements, diet and lifestyle, in a holistic fashion, where recommendations are tailored specifically to each individual.

There is no “One size fits all”. Herbal formulas are custom created. I base my recommendations on the clients’ medical history, family history, lifestyle, diet, and traditional diagnostic techniques such as pulse, tongue, and facial diagnosis, as well as analyzing available lab tests.

Together we address the root causes and patterns of disease.

Conditions/Symptoms I work with…

  • issues related to aging, such as osteoporosis and osteopenia
  • cognitive function
  • anxiety
  • heart health
  • digestive health
  • stress and sleep issues

Initial consultation

The initial conversation – the intake – is a thorough exploration of health issues and desired outcomes, lasting about 90 minutes. We review your health history, labs if you have them, and discuss your concerns as it relates to your health. This is my chance to dive deep to understand what’s creating your symptoms. Together we develop a plan of action, with recommendations for herbs, supplement and lifestyle changes, based on who you are, and where you are on your healing journey. When I do my job right, you will feel empowered to take charge of your own health. The fee for an initial consultation is $160.Click here to book!

Follow-up appointments

Follow-up appointments are scheduled on an individual basis, a few days, weeks or months apart, with at least two appointments recommended. Many clients return seasonally for years. The follow-up gives us a chance to review what is going well, what may need to change and decide on next steps. The follow-up appointment fee is $80. It usually lasts about 45 minutes.

Reiki energy healing

Towels and candles

In addition to the herbal consultation, I offer Reiki energy healing, either as a stand-alone appointment or as an add-on. At this time I practice virtually only, and Reiki works very well at a distance, though it is not exactly the same as the human touch.

A Reiki add-on of 15 minutes carries a fee of $25. I hope to be able to offer in-person consultations in the future. Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.
